Ruff was first born on-site in 2022, when Jo started experimenting with her own hard hat sweatband; trying to stop her hair breakage, discomfort, poor sweat absorption and the never-ending cycle of throwing out disposable sweatbands.
What began as a personal fix quickly grew into a solution for the wider hardhat wearing community: Other workers started seeing the sweatband in her hardhat and wanted one too.

Fast forward a bit - Fallon came into the picture through her marketing agency. What started as a conversation about helping promote Ruff turned into something bigger.
